Solanto Castle
A jewel overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea
A regal story that spans the centuries
The tower, the oldest nucleus of the complex, was built in Norman times as a defensive bastion of the nearby tuna fishery. Over the centuries the Castle became a refuge and residence for illustrious figures: The Queen Bianca of Navarre, which here found protection from the aims of the Count of Modica Bernardo Cabrera. King Ferdinand of Bourbon and Queen Maria Carolina, who in the 18th century chose Solanto as a place of leisure and quiet.
A prestigious history that lives on in the environments, gardens and views that make this place unique in Sicily.
